Alva Skincare Review

I was given a cupon code and got the chance to pick out some stuff from Ecco Verde and well, you know me, I had to spend more than what I was given. Now, today I am going to talk about some of the skincare I have been trying out.
As I have stated many times I have an acne-prone skin and that is why I am always on a search for that special product that will get rid of my acne. This time I have decided to try out the brand Alva since there aren´t a lot of reviews out there and I hope this one will be helpful. Some of the items I got in the set (all though you can purchase them separately, too) and some I bought separately.
I wanted to try out this brand since this was the first time I heard of them and they were a bit less chemically than my regular products.

Before I tell you about my experienece let me explain what is going on with my skin. I have stopped taking my birth control after about two and a half years and I started to notice a couple of spots around my chin. Those few spots did not really bother me since I was used to having acne my entire life. I have done a Roaccutane treatment in the past and it had helped me a lot.
However, a couple of months went by and my skin got worse and worse. It got to a point where I did not want to make any more Youtube videos or outfit posts since I was ashamed that a beauty blogger could look like that (all though I was aware it was not my fault). After talking to some other Slovenian beauty bloggers I have decided to cut out milk and dairy products completely (I am already a vegetarian (and have been for the last 3 or 4 years) so that was not too hard.)
I was amazed at how much that helped (although I have tried to be dairy-free before and it had never helped) however I still did not see the results I wanted to see and that is why I decided to try out some new products. The condition is still bad however it is getting better day by day (ok..I can´t resist milk chocolate so there are still days when I look like a monster and don´t even wanna take my dog out for a walk without makeup on).

Before purchasing this product I did a little research and I read a lot about how this product is too runny and I have to say that was probably written by people who did not know how to use it. Since the product contains clay you are supposed to shake it up before using it to prevent the separation.
However I have to say I found the consistency weird since I felt like there were little grains rubbing all over my face and I did not like the smell that much since it does smell a bit medicinal. The product is a weird green shade and you do look a bit like a dirty Shrek once you have it on you. What I did like about this product was the fact that once you left it on for about 2 minutes it started to tighten up your skin but not to the point of discomfort. I would give this product a 3/5 since I do believe I have used better cleansers in my past.

Combination and blemish prone-skin

I have to say I really do like using this product since I think it calms down my skin and does not irritate it at all. It does take a bit longer to absordb than my Soraya tonics, but I do not find that annoying. I like the fact that this product comes in a glass container although I don´t find it that easy to travel with because of that reason. The glass container makes it look luxurious and I think the product really does help fight my acne since I can see a visible difference in my skin on the days when I use it. The scent of this product is even more medicinal however it is not so overpowering as it is in the cleansing cream. I give this tonic a 4/5 (I would give it a 5 but the packaging is difficult to travel with).

Blemish-prone skin

What I found best about this cream is the fact that you only need the tiniest bit for your whole face. I have read many reviews that said this cream takes a long time to absorb, but I think that happens if you use to much (and you can easily do that with this cream) and I even find that helpful with my MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation and my Revlon Colorstay since it gives them a more natural finish and it helps them to apply better. This cream does have a slight medicinal sent, however it is not disturbing at all and I actually find it comforting. I do think this cream helped a lot with my acne and was the second best next to the tonic. I would give this cream a 4,5/5.

The product I disliked the most is this one. I found the application to be quite bad for a product like this since it builds up bacteria and I found that my acne was even more irritated after using it. I definitely prefer my Lush Grease Lightening and I will not be using this product in the future. The scent was awful and VERY medicinal and I found it really disturbing.
Would give this product a 1/5.

Combination and blemish-prone skin

I think this is one of those product that will make the brand well known in the future since it truly does clear out my skin very nicely while still leaving it soft and moisturized (I do use a moisturizer after using it). I think this product is perfect for anyone fighting acne however I do not recommend using it before a date night or any other day when you want to look extra special since the product can bring out some of the acne that was not there before, but that is only because it wants to clear out the skin of all the bacteria. It has only one ingredient and that is Maroccan Lava Clay and that means it is completely natural. I really do love the way this product makes my skin feel although I do not find myself reaching for it that often. It does tighten up quite a lot when it dries up and it does give you an unpleasant feeling however that gets all better once you rise off your face. I wanted to try out this product because of the fact that I was sooo impressed with the Moja Drogerija mask and since that one contained a lot of clay, I wanted to see how my skin would react to the real thing. I would give this product a 4,5/5 (the packaging knocked off half a point).
